AM-- weights and short run after

15 min 2 mi

PM-- This was loads of fun! I forgot what it was like to race fast like this! My buns got destroyed... I think my form was not on point either. Nathan and I are setting some goals so we can sprint faster and get quicker legs. And today was the first time I wore my beautiful Hoka spikes :') Now I'll just keep getting faster. Last track season was very challenging and I did not improve really at all... However, from this test I know that as long as I work hard my season is going to be chock full of epic PR's.

4*1min sprints with 3,2,1 min recovery times. Distance: 1,490m

AM-- Morning run and then relaxing Yoooogaaa

25 mins 3.5 mi

PM-- Had quite the adventurous shoe run today. Everyone was pretty worn down and tired - me included. We visited sullivan, the one seminary teacher's house, Marlar, Sandberg's, and more. Kind of a slower run today.

AM-- well this was probably the most epic run ever. I shall tell thee the tale of my travels

Nathan and I met up at Shinobe Kaibe trailhead and began our journey from there. We ran out of the neighborhood and on to S washington fields road headed south. Then, we hung a left up the ol damn road and took that for a ways. At some point we turned right and, after going through some houses, came up on some desert trails at the foot of the giant hills. We then proceeded to climb them for extra tough butts (the hills are the ones just north of the new southern parkway that goes through Warner Valley). At the top the view was superb. We could see Sand Hallow, Pine View High, Warner Valley, and a magnificient angle of Shinobe Kaibe. Afterwards ran along the top of the ridge and came down the northern end of them and out onto Dam Road once again. After some tricky navigation through junkyards and pure instinct we found ourselves in the middle of the trail known as none other than Roller Coasters. We ran back to the start, then to the end, and then back to the start. After another quick breather (for our buns were on fire as was our lungs) we completed a 10 min fast finish back to our cars parked at the trailhead.

So yeah, pretty dope I'd say.

AM-- Had an absolutely stellar morning run this morning! Stayed in well, fought off some doubt, and overall, really built some more confidence. Twas a solid way to start my day. 2*5 min EZ tempo, 2*7 min tempo, 5 min threshold finish.

13.1 mi 90 mins

PM-- Well today was absolutely insane. Went home and stayed there due to the bomb scare. I'm so glad that didn't actually work. A lot of my friends were in the lunchroom. Anyways did 20 mins chill run around my neighborhood and then 5 mins of jump rope.

3 mi 20 mins + 5 min jump rope

PM-- Track workout w/ cooper: 4*1000m then a 400m and a 600m all at CV. Finish was 4 striders

This workout was super fun! Especially becuase I'm at the point to where I can just feel the pace and usually hit my times without looking at a watch. The clouds today looked absolutely beautiful today.

Going to be honest, HOSA state was today and yesterday and I did not get to get my runs in... I could've fit them in if I knew what was going on but it was my first time... There was even a 5k run but I wasn't allowed to run because I had to enter beforehand! They gave out schaolarships to whoever placed even! *punch myself in the face* I'm going to come back next year and win the 5k and all of my events though.

Gonna hit up a trail and smash it tomorrow.

AM-- Long run with 2*5min EZ tempos, 2*7min tempos, and 1*5min thresh. Had a solid run! My legs felt great! I had really bad heartburn the whole thing though so now I have to take meds so I don't have that anymore. I think this is the end of my stomach problems though! (knock on wood) Anyways these long runs are becoming easier compared to how I felt at the start of the season.

PM-- 1600m Race at the 2018 PV Invitational

55 min 7.6 mi

Well bluh. This race was not a PR and in all honesty I did not prepare for it in the way I should have. I was tired, dehydrated, and not in it mentally. I'm actually glad with the time I got considering how lame of an effort I put into it. I just was not in it mentally and I was not having fun. Now that these races are happening I don't think I'll psych myself out anymore. The main thing I'm going to do is eliminate anything that can hinder my racing confidence. Things like not getting enough sleep, water, stretching, etc. Secondly, I'm simply going to have fun and relax. Last year in track I found no enjoyment in the sport at all and I do not want a repeat. I actually really love running and I can't get in a funk again. Lastly, I'm just going to be brave. Brave not only in racing, but in every aspect of my life. In what I believe, who I am, and where I come from. I feel like that's what running is all about. Living and running greatly is something I need to focus on. Living openly and honestly and just relaxing during meets oh my heck. I know that I've put the work in and I deserve it! Nathan and I had a pretty beast talk after our lame races (and they actually weren't that bad for a first race). I feel like there's gonna be a lot of cool things happening from us two in the near future (;

Today I am grateful for how applicable running is to life.

PM-- Extremely windy solo run out around the new neighborhoods in little valley south of where I live. Saw the new school and I feel like an old guy thinking about what that area was like before everyone and their grandma moved in. I miss my old dirt biking trails ); anyways good run but went on the shorter end for today cause I'm really tired. Over the weekend I got a nice tan and I actually really enjoy helping out with track meets. It's also fun to call scrubs out over the stadium speakers.

PM-- dank workout of 10 mins warm, 5 mins EZ tempo, 4*800m @ CV pace, and then 3 hill circuits to finish. My legs are so chiseled it's ridiculous. I think more runners should be proud of their buff legs. And by buff I mean super lean and strong.
